Doctor Profiles and Our Staff

George A. Courtright, O.D.
Dr. Courtright attended LaGrange College. After graduating in 1971 with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry, he moved to Birmingham, Alabama, to attend the University of Alabama Medical Center School of Optometry. He graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor's degree in Physiological Optics and a Doctor of Optometry degree. After graduation, Dr. Courtright moved back to the LaGrange, Georgia, area and went into private practice with Dr. Roy Archer.

In 1979, he left private practice and went to work with Vistakon as director of Professional Relations. In this position, Dr. Courtright was responsible for the company's regulatory affairs and for clinical investigations; conducted clinical investigations on toric contact lenses and extended wear contact lenses; produced pre-market approval applications for the Food and Drug Administration; and lectured around the country on toric and extended wear contact lenses.

Dr. Courtright moved back to Atlanta in 1984 and went back into practice, starting Opti-Care Associates, which contracted with Opti-World to supply the doctors for their optical stores. In 1990, Dr. Courtright opened Heritage Vision Center, a private, full-service eye care practice located in Snellville, Georgia. Over the years, we have added Covington Vision Center in Covington, Georgia, and Valley Vision Center in West Point, Georgia.

Jeffery S. Hackleman

Jeffery S. Hackleman, O.D. Dr Jeffrey Hackleman is board certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and Georgia Optometric Association. He is also clinical investigator for the CIBA Vision Company. Dr. Hackleman is a family practice optometrist whose primary practice interests include routine and specialty contact lens fitting, laser vision correction and sports vision enhancement.

Dr. Hackleman received his Doctorate from the Ohio State University College of Optometry. Prior to his professional training he received his BS in Neurobiology from Purdue University. Dr Hackleman completed his internship at the prestigious Hampton Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Hampton, Va. He completed his internship with TLC Vision Center in Columbus, OH. He enjoys spending time with his wife Tricia and his two girls Claire and Paige.

Dickie McMullan, M.D.
Dr. McMullan is a native of Virginia and has been practicing in Atlanta for the past 20 years. An alumnus of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Dr. McMullan completed her residency in Ophthalmology at Emory and Grady Hospital in Atlanta. Dr. McMullan was awarded two prestigious Fellowships, one in corneal disorders and refractive surgery at Tufts Medical Hospital in Boston, MA, and the other on phacoemulsification and implant surgery in Atlanta. Having performed thousands of refractive surgical procedures since practicing in Atlanta, Dr. McMullan is considered by many to be an expert in her field.

Dr. McMullan is a board-certified Ophthalmologist and fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, as well as a past president of the Atlanta Ophthalmology Society. Dr. McMullan has also volunteered her services for the Medical Benevolent Foundation, where she saw patients in Belize, and the Good Samaritan Center in Atlanta.
